Well, I figure in case anyone actually wants to know anything about me, perhaps I should explain meself a bit better to therefore explain what I blog & why.
So, firstly, I’m Rebecca Ann.
In my lifetime, I must marry a man who’s last name starts with a B, because I would then be R.A.B. and any decent Harry Potter fan should get the reference. If not, consult Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, specifically the part about the locket horcrux fake.
I’m a huge music & movie buff.
I love most kinds of music, from Classic Rock, to Pop Rock, Folk, Country, Blues & Bluegrass, Doo-wop, Mo-town and nearly anything in between.
I’m generally pretty open minded; there are few things I go into with pre-determined bias, and therefore I do well in expanding my knowledge base, and what I like.
Despite the fact that my friend believes I’m a hipster, I am not.
I like things, specifically nerdy things, like school, and math, and writing crappy poetry, and comics and Teen Titans, and RPing and cosplaying, and weather.
I like trying to sound deep.
I want to learn EVERYTHING I POSSIBLY CAN, especially words and languages.
I like laughing.
currently i’m very bored with this, and it all sounds quite lame, so if i feel like it i’ll come back to it later. :)
Why “the count says it best.” ?
Simple.
I happen to love this movie called Pirate Radio, also know as The Boat That Rocked, and in it there is a character they often call the Count. The Count once said, and I quote
“You know, a few months ago, I made a terrible mistake. I realized something, and instead of crushing the thought the moment it came I… I let it hang on, and now I know it to be true. And I’m afraid it’s stuck in my head forever. These are the best days of our lives. It’s a terrible thing to know, but I know it. ”
I feel that this could not have been said better, that these truly are the best days of our lives. Someday, we’ll be old, and look back, and what will we have to show for it? Memories? Pictures? Souvenirs? No, nothing. Nothing lasts.
Also, in retrospect, I realized that “the count” can also mean “the score” or in baseball, it means the amount of balls and strikes against a batter. In life, we end up looking at the scoreboard a lot, but really, who ever wins?
